Happy Thanksgiving everyone - I am writing this post from a lovely hospital room at Ressurection Hospital. On Tuesday I had to take ambulance ride and have emergency surgery for THREE hernias - who has THREE hernias???? Well I am feeling much better today and hope to go home soon. I am bummed that I missed Thanksgiving - liquid lunch just didn't cut it! Plus this is the longest I have been away from Aidan, so that makes me sad. :-( Thanks to all of you who have called and emailed with your get well wishes!
I also wanted to remind everyone about the event we are having on Friday at LGB. I am really excited about it and hope it turns out to be a fun event and good start to the holiday parties for the season! Stop by, donate a toy for the kids at Lydia, and have a holiday drink with us! Hope to see you there (5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.)

A night out....and an award!
So Thursday night Nate and I went to this little holiday dinner for the Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce...thought it would be fun, good for a dinner date for Nate and I, and Katie volunteered to sleep over and babysit, plus, Melissa from the Chamber said we were getting this award for Green Business of the Year...sounded like fun....
WELL, as this was our first dinner w/the Lincoln Square Chamber, little did we know that there were 250 people attending! It was at the DANK Haus on Western. It was beautiful! Our "little" award was amazing - what an honor. Kerry from Bloom Yoga presented the award which was so kind. I then had to give a "thank you" speech which I hope I didn't screw up too badly! We met some really nice people that own businesses in Lincoln Square as well.
Seriously, it really was a great honor to be recognized for our efforts. I even got to meet the Alderman!

some updated pics....
Auntie Katie was complaining that she doesn't have any recent pictures of Aidan - so Aidan and I headed off to the park on one of the beatiful early November days....we had so much fun - this kid is always on the move. All he ever wants to do is go outside - it's going to be a LONG winter for this little man!
